I create freedom and space for clients to unpack their pain on their terms, so they can move forward as their true, authentic self.

On the outside, you have everything together. On the inside, though, it’s a different story.

Inside, everything feels out of control.

You can’t relax

You can’t remember the last time you woke up in the morning feeling relaxed and restored. Before you even put your feet on the floor in the morning, your mind is in overdrive and your thoughts are going a mile a minute. It feels like a heavy weight is always sitting on your chest. Forget thinking about the fun things in life - you’re just trying to figure out how to get through the day. The nagging feeling that something just isn’t right, is constantly there.

Photo of a woman sitting on a bed with her legs folded under her and arms stretched down and behind her. She is flipping her long hair backwards, from being in front of her, while books are thrown in the air around her.

You can’t focus

You’re finding it more difficult to focus, and lately you notice you’ve been making more mistakes. You start second guessing yourself and the more you second guess yourself, the more your self-doubt grows. Just having to make a decision sends you into agony because of it all. You’re overthinking what you should do next, and it leaves you feeling terrified of possibly making the wrong decision. Feeling frozen in fear is happening more often, and you are not sure what to do next to get control over this.

You're irritated

You’ve been moody, edgy - even downright angry at times - and feeling like you can’t tolerate other people. You want to socialize and enjoy your friends and family, but you feel so irritable that you decide to avoid everyone as much as you can. You don’t want to be short with anyone or have to deal with anyone annoying you. But, you also notice that people aren’t inviting you to their events as often as they have in the past, and a few close friends and family members have started asking if you’re ok. The comments they’ve made about how edgy you’ve been, have left you questioning your mood and how you’re feeling about people. So, you find yourself replaying scenarios trying to make sense of things, wondering, “Is it me or is it them?”

You deserve to take control back - over your life, yourself, and your feelings and experiences.

When you get the right support in your life, feeling better isn’t just possible - it also becomes reality.

Living with the impact of trauma and anxiety can be a whole body, consuming experience that just takes over everything. It leaves you feeling sick to your stomach, miserable, and out of control. It forces you to tuck away the parts of yourself that are the best and brightest, because you’re just trying to survive. Trauma and anxiety make you overthink everything, question everything, and bend yourself into knots, all while trying to show up on everyone else’s terms - it’s exhausting.

You don’t have to do life that way. It is absolutely possible to redefine yourself, your desires and goals, and learn how to thrive on your terms, in spite of the things that have happened to you. I help clients work through traumatic and stressful events so you can leave the past where it belongs - behind you. You don’t have to feel overwhelmed and alone anymore.

At Yates Psychotherapy, I use an innovative form of psychotherapy called Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T. for short). This therapy goes beyond “talking,” to help you feel in control and confident again.

Are you ready to start your healing journey?

I help people feel calmer in their body, gain greater peace in their mind, and more connected in their relationships. In our work together, you’ll not only be given the tools for coping with an anxious mind and body, but we will work to heal the root cause of where the anxiety began.

Like you, I’ve experienced my own challenges, along with figuring out how to deal with and overcome trauma, fears, and grief. Life will throw so many different things at us, challenging us in each moment to either figure it out and rise to the occasion, or giving us the option to falter, fail, and fall. I know - through personal and professional experience - that when we choose to face our fears and the things that feel the heaviest and hardest, we discover who we really are, and what we’re made of. I also know, when we have the right support system and help in place, the only direction to move in is up.

I believe:

You deserve to live a full, expansive life, free from anxiety and the impact of trauma. You deserve to feel deeply connected in relationships that bring you joy and fulfillment. You deserve to feel confident, competent, and complete.

I’d love to join you in your journey to discovering your freedom, full potential, and truest sense of self.
